Haus Stap is for guest houses, rooms and lodges anywhere in PNG. Hosts list what they have; travellers look around without signing in, then book with their BM ID and pay through BSP Pay — with the host paid out by BM after the stay.
Sign in with your PNG phone number — a one-time code arrives on WhatsApp, or by SMS if WhatsApp cannot reach you. No password, no app store. Hosts and guests use the same login.

Your calendar
Keep rooms back for walk-ins, wantok visits or repairs — per room type, e.g. 2 of 3 double rooms — and Haus Stap stops selling those nights. A room a guest has already booked can never be blocked.
A message for every booking
Hosts, and any managers on their team, get a WhatsApp message (or an SMS) for every new booking and cancellation, when their place goes live, and when their money reaches their BM Wallet — also listed under Alerts in the app.

Real locations, filters for price and amenities, and the things that matter here: power, a water tank, hot water, Wi-Fi, CCTV, a fenced compound, secure parking, meals.
Book and pay on the phone
Pay the stay through BM Pay — BSP Pay, Visa or the BM wallet — at booking. The host sees a confirmed, paid booking — no deposit chasing.
Hosts paid by BM
Money is held by BM until the stay. Hosts are paid the day after check-in into their BM Wallet, and on to their BM-verified bank account, net of the fee shown at listing.
Both sides review
Guests review the stay, hosts review the guest. Good hosts rise; bad experiences are visible.

Haus Stap uses BM ID for hosts and guests, BM Pay for payment and payout, and the BM wallet to hold the money in between.
- Blockchain Melanesia is working with the Bank of Papua New Guinea to secure its e-money licence for the BM wallet.
- Payments run through BM Pay on BSP Pay: CIF and mobile OTP, no card details typed into a phone.
- Payment is held by BM until the stay — guests are not asked to send deposits to strangers.
- Hosts are paid only to a bank account BM staff have verified.
- Your phone number is your ID: one-time codes on WhatsApp (SMS if WhatsApp cannot reach you), no passwords, the same BM ID in every BM app.

Is Haus Stap live?
It is in pilot. The first hosts are joining now; if you have rooms to let, talk to us. Anyone can open the app and look around without signing in.
What does a host pay?
A percentage of each booking plus a small booking fee, shown when you list. Nothing to list.
Can a guest cancel?
Each listing shows its cancellation terms before you pay; refunds follow those terms and are paid automatically into your BM Wallet. Whatever the terms, cancel within 24 hours of booking and you get 100% back, as long as check-in was at least 7 days away.
Does it work for lodges and camps?
Yes — anything with a bed and a price: guest houses, lodges, camp rooms, spare rooms in a family home.

Look around first, no sign-in needed: open Haus Stap and see what is listed near you. You only sign in to reserve, save or message a host — or to add your own place for the pilot.
